Graphix Island supported the city of Hamburg on the Altona climate protection project, working alongside the agency Superurban Kommunikation. Graphix Island developed the logo and the colour world. The logo is meant to symbolise the dialogue both between the city and businesses, and between residents and the city, in pursuit of one shared goal: making Altona’s urban climate more climate-friendly.

About the client
The integrated climate protection concept for Altona sets out a detailed action plan intended to help meet the climate targets of Hamburg’s climate plan over the coming years. It covers not only climate mitigation measures but also adaptation measures across every sector and a wide range of target groups.
The Altona STADTKLIMA standard, for example, aims to build climate considerations into every district building process, encouraging more sustainable construction. Neighbourhoods get dedicated support with energy retrofits and climate adaptation, and, at Hamburg’s third-largest commercial and industrial site, businesses are working together with the district towards a more future-proof footing.
Less traffic, more people walking and cycling: those are the goals for sustainable mobility in the Altona district. To get there, the city is rolling out a range of measures and projects as its contribution to climate protection.
